Broken-down cars are difficult to recognize at night. In a study-project we addressed this danger by using water as a projection surface.
DISTASIGN is a conceptual warning triangle. It sprays and illuminates water up to five meters. This creates an effective warning sign at night that cannot be easily obstructed by other vehicles.
By unfolding the triangle, it will light up. At the touch of a button, it will start to spray and illuminate the water.
DISTASIGN can be equipped with a regular water bottle. The pressured air can be recharged at the gas station.
This concept was a self-initiated project by Moritz Wallasch, Dorothee Clasen and me at the Köln International School of Design. In six weeks, we went through the whole design process - from first ideas to physical prototypes, posters and animation-video.
Nomination| Our project was nominated for the Designpreis Halle 2013 - an award for student projects. It was later exhibited at several events in Cologne (Germany).
